Caddy Rangers
“WHAT an unexpected bonus in life this has been.
"I'm 45-years-old and after years of having to stay home from work to care for my children, I'm given the opportunity to train as a caddy ranger at Legend Golf & Safari Resort.
“For the first time in my life I've seen a lion with my naked eye; I've learned how to catch snakes – I've even held a python around my neck. I can show you an ostrich track on the road or a zebra's. I can also tell you which line to take on the 1st hole of the Signature Course or the distance from the tee to the green.
“I've even had the privilege of being a golf ball spotter on the African-shaped green at the bottom of Hanglip Mountain when Padraig Harrington made par on the Extreme 19th golf hole."
Godfrey Lesetja, Caddy Ranger, Legend Golf & Safari Resort
The Caddy Ranger programme is taking 40 local people and training them to become not only great caddies but to have a knowledge of the bush they can help pass on to visitors.
Before stepping foot on the golf course our caddy rangers take a month long intensive course at our Entabeni Nature Guide Training School. Here they learn from the very best about the flora and fauna they are likely to encounter on our Signature Course in the heart of the bush.
It is compulsory for each fourball to be accompanied by at least one caddy ranger but why not book one each and walk this amazing course in the most wonderful bush scenery.
