Great Enclosure
The Great Enclosure is one of the signature features of the Legend Golf & Safari Resort.
This mammoth structure is also a physical embodiment of the concept and cultural and historical context within which the Legend Golf & Safari Resort development has been planned.
The resort is built on the southernmost reaches of the mighty Monomotapa Empire and close to the first Monomotapan capital Mapungubwe. The second great capital was what’s now known as the Great Zimbawe ruins.
It is from these great historical sites that the inspiration was drawn for the architectural styles of the Legend Golf & Safari Resort – and in particular the Great Enclosure.
With nine meter high walls, several meters think, the Great Enclosure is the welcoming gateway to the resort.
Within the great walls a host of attractions are being built.
Here the resort’s museum, paying homage to that great Monomotapa heritage, is housed.
A more modern bar will sit alongside boutique shops where local traders will display and sell their wares.
The central courtyard has already played host to several large functions, including the VIP cocktail receptions with musical accompaniment.
