Wildlife and Cultural Centre
Want to get up close to some of the rarest animals on the planet?
Here at Legend Wildlife & Cultural Centre we're committed to the conservation of endangered African species such as the white lions, the sable antelope and the cheetah.
That means you can learn all about these captivating creatures and the difficulties they are facing in their natural environments.
Did you know, for example, that there are no white lions in the wild at the moment?
Learn all about our disease-free buffalo as well as our plans to stock our centre with sustainable herds and release these rare animals back into the wild.
We're also currently busy building our moated islands which will allow our feline friends the opportunity to roam outside their current enclosures without the threat of persecution.
Our unique centre is an off-shoot of Legend Golf & Safari Resort and the Big Five Entabeni Safari Conservancy and it's our aim to divide it into four parts:
- Predator Centre for white lions; king cheetah; wild dogs; karakul; serval; African wild cat and black footed cat
- Antelope Centre for disease-free buffalo; sable; nyala; roan and red duicker
- Reptile Centre for snakes; tortoises and crocodiles
- Raptor Centre for the predators of the air, birds of prey
Then there's the Eugene Marais Museum and our Tea Garden. After getting up close and personal with the nyala and the buffalo, remember to make time to relax at our Tea Garden surrounded by our bird sanctuary. We look forward to welcoming you.
